If you’ve decided that you make to change to a platform bed, you want to make sure that you understand the difference. Unlike a traditional bed, a platform does not require the use of a box spring, and as such requires a different type of mattress that the variety that adorns ordinary beds. One might think that the lack of a box spring means the beds are uncomfortable, but such is not the case.
Changing to a different style of bed than that to which you have become accustomed can take some adjusting. The first thought that probably comes to mind is that without a box spring, the mattress cannot be comfortable, and if you take a negative attitude, you will not find the comfort that is in the bed or that you seek. Instead of a standard frame, the platform bed relies on a platform, thus the name platform bed.

If you’ve never slept on a platform bed, take some time to try one out and see how comfortable and well fitting it is. Do keep in mind, though, that you must turn the mattress over regularly and beat in order to keep dust and other contagions from irritating the lungs and nostrils. If you take care of your bed, you can be certain that it will give you many years of pleasure and comfort. You’ll find it much more comfortable and easier to care for than that old box spring and mattress that has served you all your life.
